What is Eirene?

Eirene is the High School fellowship at Chinese Bible Missions Church of Los Angeles. We were formed to serve high school students from greater San Gabriel Valley. Our fellowship consists of students from South Pasadena High, Alhambra High, Mark Keppel High, Temple City High, San Gabriel High, and Arcadia High.

Eirene is peace in greek. “Peace” (eirene derived from verb eiro = to join) implies health, well-being, and prosperity. Eirene means to be set at one again like Adam was related to God before the Fall in the garden of Eden. Peace is the opposite of war or disturbance, a term which accurate describes man’s relationship with the Almighty prior to salvation “for if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son” (Ro 5:10). To have faith in Christ brings a man peace WITH God and then daily walking in communion and fellowship with Him brings us the peace OF God. Our goal is to bring salvation to high school students by sharing the Gospel through fellowship, worship, praise, and our testimony.
